Hello and welcome to the site that houses additional materials for "Creating a Climate Literacy Context for Reading Literature"
Chapter summary: Drawing on Kristen Simmons's Pacifica, this chapter highlights how a unit of instruction can be designed to foster youth readers' engagement with themes of relocation, internment, climate denialism, media and social discourse, and climate science by incorporating design elements of a cordel, side quests, and a final juxtaposition project.
Below, you'll find a map of the cordel described in the chapter, the cordel as a PDF file, pictures of students engaged in the cordel, and a description of the final juxtaposition project.
